Cooper Counseling and Wellness is Expanding!

We are thrilled to announce that Cooper Counseling and Wellness is growing from a solo practice to a group practice, allowing us to expand our services and offer more comprehensive support to women and families. This transition marks an exciting new chapter for our practice, where we can now reach more people in need of mental health care, particularly in maternal and perinatal mental health.

As part of this growth, we are pleased to welcome two new clinicians to our team:

Courtney Anderson, LPC Associate

Courtney specializes in depression, anxiety, grief, teen trauma, life transitions, family issues, and PTSD. Her compassionate approach, combined with a focus on trauma recovery, helps individuals and families navigate life’s challenges with greater resilience and healing. She is committed to creating a safe and supportive space for clients of all ages. Learn more about Courtney here.

Kayla Carthel, Graduate Counseling Intern
Kayla focuses on anxiety, depression, and relationship conflict. With her background in public health and her passion for promoting the well-being of women of color, Kayla is eager to make a difference in the realm of maternal mental health. Her personal experience as a new mother and her deep understanding of the challenges black mothers face in pregnancy and postpartum fuel her dedication to supporting women during this critical time. Kayla will be offering low-cost virtual services. Learn more about Kayla here.

Together, our growing team will continue to offer compassionate, specialized care for maternal mental health, trauma, anxiety, depression, and beyond. Whether you are a current client or someone considering starting therapy, we are here to support you every step of the way.

Spread the Word!
We encourage you to share this exciting news with family, friends, or anyone in your life who may benefit from our expanded services. As we grow, so does our capacity to provide the care that so many need—your referrals are always appreciated!

Thank you for your continued trust in Cooper Counseling and Wellness. We look forward to continuing our work with you and offering even more resources to help you thrive.

Important Update on Dr. Cooper's Availability

At Cooper Counseling and Wellness, we prioritize holistic well-being—not just for our clients, but also for our clinicians. In the spirit of practicing what we so often encourage, Dr. Caren Cooper will be adjusting her availability to allow for a healthier balance between work, family, and self-care. Saturday, November 23rd will be the final Saturday that Dr. Cooper will offer weekend services. Beginning Monday, November 25th, Dr. Cooper will only offer weekday appointments between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm. Additional changes to availability may occur at the beginning of the new year and any updates will be shared in advanced notice.

While these changes may shift appointment options slightly, this decision reflects a commitment to providing the highest quality care, while ensuring our clinicians are refreshed, balanced, and fully present for the important work they do with you. â€‹Self-care is essential in maintaining mental and emotional well-being, and just like our clinicians, we encourage you to make space for your own self-care, too. Whether through therapy, setting aside time for relaxation, or balancing your commitments, your wellness is key to living fully and authentically.

We appreciate your understanding and flexibility during this transition. Dr. Cooper remains dedicated to supporting you on your mental health journey, and looks forward to continuing to walk alongside you in your healing. If you have any questions or, please don't hesitate to reach out. Your mental health is our priority, and we are here to support you in every way.
